July 25 COVID-19 Update

July 25, 2020

To all our Friends and Supporters,

This has been a tough summer, for all of us. The challenges of opening Christian Summer Camp required the help of many people (thank you) and establishing protocols based on the information from the CDC and the Board of Health. Our Summer Camp COVID protocols direct action in each situation.

This past week we had a faculty (Horse Camp Track) come tell us they had just received a text from a friend. They had contact with this person outside of camp the week before. The friend informed them that they had just tested positive to COVID. Based on our protocols, they were removed from the cohort group they were with even though they were showing no symptoms. A test the next day showed that they were also positive (July 25, 2020).  This person continues to be asymptomatic and is doing well.

Again, as to our protocols that allow for contact tracing, we are notifying any faculty/campers/staff that might have had contact with that faculty and are recommending testing and a 14 day quarantine.

Also, per our protocols, we are canceling the last week of horse camp for the summer. The other scheduled camp sessions will open as planned tomorrow (July 26, 2020) since those groups had no direct contact with the horse camp cohort group.

That said, it has been an amazing summer of watching God reconcile children to Him. Last week I baptized two young men who were making the choice to let Jesus be in charge. The conversations and questions were amazing. Thank you for your support as God continues to change lives.

Praying,
