My class came to The Ark for an end of year field trip and we could not be happier about how things turned out. Their staff was well prepared and had every activity ready for our arrival. The kids had a great time. The parents felt like it was a safe environment and the teachers were pleased at the organization and smooth transitions. It was a great day!

We went to THE ARK for team and relationship building. I feel our expectations were met in that the kids always come back with great experiences conquering challenges and making memories together. Our positive experiences at THE ARK are highlighted with their large, beautiful facilities and activities that many kids would never get the opportunity to participate in such as canoeing and rock wall climbing.

It was a positive team-building experience for our students to get to know each other outside of the traditional school setting. Our experience at THE ARK was very positive. Everyone was engaged and participated; even students who are normally shy or reserved were given the chance to practice their leadership skills in a safe environment. The leader was able to connect on a personal level with the students, which made the lessons more meaningful. The activities challenged the students to get outside of their comfort zone, which allows them to grow and mature into strong leaders. The group leader also debriefed the activities to review what the goal was and how the lesson can be applied in a real-world setting. Plus, the advantage of doing this type of training in a wilderness environment is that the kids are little “off-balance” from their norm and they are more willing to try new things. Overall, everyone enjoyed the trip!

This trip is always a highlight of our year. My seniors often tell me that these trips are their favorite field trip. The young lady we graduated in the spring of 2016 included our trips to THE ARK in her graduation speech, crediting THE ARK as the most important factor in creating a close knit group of students during her years with us.
