  • What is Life1010?

This two-year internship program at THE ARK Christian Ministries is a crash course on Life the way God intended it. It is designed to provide leadership experience, training, mentoring, and spiritual growth while serving with the staff at THE ARK. We desire to see all young people grow and experience what it means to live Bible-Based, Christ-Centered, Discipleship-Directed and Mission-Minded lives in this world, and we strive to raise up a generation that desires to transform the kingdoms of this world into the Kingdom of God. This is a year-round commitment where Interns will learn what it means to live a mission-centered life in an atmosphere that provides opportunities for the intern's growth in a personal walk with God.

Year one of the internship consists of studying and working state-side with the year-round staff at THE ARK. Interns work in a variety of camp ministry areas such as programming, maintenance, outreach, office, food service, hosting, and guest services.

Year two of the internship includes working in a cross-cultural setting overseas, where interns will be mentored by missionaries in the field.  During this time, Interns will learn what it means to live Matthew 28:19-20, which says “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

    Why Should I Care?
GROWTH. Growth is one of those words that can make us cringe when we hear it…because to grow, to become something more refined, requires work. Do you want to be stronger? Lift, sweat, get sore, repeat. Do you want to run faster and longer? Jog, sprint, sweat, fall down, get up, repeat. Do you want to become the person God made you to be? Read, serve, love, pray, cry, fall down, get back up, repeat. Our walk with the Lord was never intended to be a sprint or a once a year work out. We were never designed to be the same person tomorrow as we are today.

LIFE1010 was created on that very idea. It is all about growth. It is about becoming something different, something better. It is about throwing ourselves into environments that will test and challenge us. In those environments, we become more like Christ and discover who He created us to be.
