Construction on Phase 1 of the Double Decker Course began in April 2021. We hope to have participants using it by late spring or early summer!
About the Double Decker High Ropes Course:
God is calling us to consider what we can do to truly embrace MORE ministry at THE ARK 365 days a year. As a ministry that since the beginning in 1948 has focused on kids, we want to engage more young people 365 days a year. What we all know is that a ministry to youth has to be where kids are most of the time. Most of their hours are spent in school or in school sponsored activities. A key part of the future of THE ARK will be to increase our number of school groups with specific marketing to the schools in a four county area.
The vision of THE ARK’s Board of Directors is to see more of the next generation radically impacted year round. To achieve this goal, we must invest in our current facilities, staffing capacity and programs. Completing the Double Decker High Ropes Course is part of reaching out to more people and doing more ministry year round.
This feature will attract the 5th - 9th grade groups (and even adult groups) we are targeting. The new course and system is a partnered program that can put as many as 50 people up in the air at the same time (or 25 with social distancing). With the same attention to safety and detail as THE ARK has always maintained, the course will be professionally built, trained, and operated. While using many volunteers in these processes the standard of excellence will be held to ACCT and PRCA standards. These are nationally approved ANSI standards.
