Last Wednesday, Pamie ended up in the ER for fluids and to try to ease vomiting. It worked and she slept well for about 6 hours that night. When she tried to eat in the morning, she threw up again. That has continued even today. Hospice told us this is due to her body systems shutting down and the cancer taking over her abdomen. We knew this was inevitable but thought we had a little more time.
We opened the house and had friends/family in for 3 days. Pamie asked me why so many people were coming to see her. We discussed what Hospice told us and that she didn't have much time. People she loves wanted to say thanks and share the difference she has made in their lives. It was beautiful; maybe she glimpsed how influential her life has been.
For months she'd planned to go to Florida with her sisters. I had to tell her I didn't think we could get there. She talked with Jesus and He told her to go. She told me through tears that it was the only thing she wanted to do. So, we are in Florida, by the grace of God, looking out on the beach, and listening to the crashing waves.
If you have photos of or with Pamie we'd love for you to share them here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/u4i1rQ4PCLRymDeTA.
Thank you for your loving support and prayers. God is still moving. His glory is being revealed. We celebrate that even in death, because of Jesus, we live forever. This life is not the end.
Many tears and deep thanks,
Bruce
