THE ARK hosts a missionary who lives on the property for the summer and shares daily with the campers what God is doing in and through their mission. Campers and volunteers are invited to partner with the missionaries by praying for them and giving financially. This summer, we are honored to have Ian and Heidi Fry and their family with us. All the offerings campers and volunteers give will go directly to their ministry in Zimbabwe.
Here's a note from Ian and Heidi:
It is with so much excitement that we—Ian and Heidi Fry and our children—get to connect with you as your summer missionaries for 2026! We wanted to share a little about our family and the ministry God has called us to in Zimbabwe, a place we’ve called home for many years.
For the past 14 years, we have been privileged to serve Jesus in Doma, Zimbabwe. I (Ian) actually grew up here, and I watched my parents start something truly special: Eden Children's Village (ECV). Today, after 17 years of marriage and a lifetime of following Jesus, we get to continue this work, managing the ministry alongside my parents and a dedicated team of 134 Zimbabweans.
At Eden Children's Village, we have one simple, powerful mission: to impact lives with the love of God and transform a nation, one life at a time. Right now, we care for 71 children under 18 and support 15 young adults over 18 who have been orphaned or abandoned and needed someone to help them get ready for adult life and living a life of faith in Jesus in the harsh realities of Zimbabwe! We believe in holistic care. This means we don't just care for their physical needs; we care for their hearts, minds, and spirits. The children live in family-style homes with dedicated Zimbabwean caregivers—not dormitories—because we want them to experience the stability and love of a real family.Here at Eden, we are passionate about discipleship. We believe the most profound transformation happens when the love of God is shown in the everyday parts of life. Whether it’s in our school, over a meal in the family home, or during a soccer game, we are teaching the children and training our staff to be wholly committed followers of Jesus. Our goal is to raise up a generation of Zimbabweans who know their identity in Christ and are equipped to be leaders who bring God's Kingdom culture into their communities every day.
